Super Bowl LVI was a memorable moment for sports fans around the world, and fans of Los Angeles sports. Los Angeles is the center of all sorts of entertainment including, one of America’s most enjoyed pastimes, Football. The last time the Superbowl was hosted in LA was in 1993, however no LA football team was involved in it. Super Bowl 56 was a huge moment for Los Angeles because not only was the Super Bowl in LA, but the Rams had the spotlight of the huge game.

Super Bowl 56 was the face off between the AFC champions the Cincinnati Bengals versus the NFC champions the Los Angeles Rams. Although the Super Bowl was in Los Angeles since the AFC took home the win in the Pro Bowl, the Bengals were considered the home team. The Bengals won the coin toss and chose to give the ball to the Rams to kick off the game of the year. One of the most anticipated sporting events of the year, viewed by millions of viewers from all over, had just begun.

The 1st quarter was a strong start for the Rams and put them in great position to lead the game. The Rams offense was firing on all cylinders, and the defense was smothering the Bengals strong run game. On the 6 play drive, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford fired a 17 yd missile to wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. for a touchdown. The Rams defense then went on to limit the Bengals to a 29 yd field goal. At the end of the 1st quarter the Rams were in the driver seat with the score being 7-3.

The Rams came to play, as they got off to a quick and strong start in the second quarter. Yet again, Rams QB Matthew Stafford led the offense down the field with another 6 play drive which ended in a 11 yd pass completion to star wide receiver Cooper Kupp for a touchdown. However, the two point conversion attempt by the Rams was stopped by the Bengals defense. The Bengals offense was not silenced as they answered back with a 6 yd touchdown pass to Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins. The rest of the 2nd quarter was a defensive display, however the Rams maintained the lead 13-10.

The 3rd quarter was a very disappointing quarter for the Los Angeles Rams, as the young Cincinnati Bengals offense came alive. In only 12 seconds of the beginning of the quarter a 75 yd bomb pass was completed for a Bengals touchdown. Not long after the Bengals also completed a 38 yd field goal which really shifted the momentum of the game. The 3rd quarter was not looking very bright for the Rams as the offense was silent after two scoring drives performed by the Bengals. With 5 minutes left in the quarter and no signs of sparks from the Rams offense they had to settle with a field goal. The Bengals took a hold of the steering wheel as they led the Rams 20-16 going into the 4th quarter.

The anticipation grew as the 4th quarter began, and Rams fans were praying for dear life. The game came down to the wire. However, after a 15 play drive Rams QB Matthew Stafford threw a 1 yd touchdown pass to wide receiver Cooper Kupp, and the Rams now led 23-20. Now all the Rams had to do was stop the Bengals and kneel to secure the win of Super Bowl 56. The Rams Successfully completed this and went on to become Super Bowl Champions.

Many say that it was expected that Rams won the Super Bowl, after the trades and build up of the team. Overall, The Rams fought hard and brought home the Super Bowl champion title to the dedicated fans of LA.
