Girls Tennis vs Rowland
November 6, 2018
The San Dimas Varsity Girls Tennis team played against Rowland High School at home on Thursday, October 18, 2018. It was senior night, where they celebrated the hard work and dedication of players: Bryana Boster, McKenna Garratt, Nicole Goldsworthy, Victoria Wong, and Ashley Yue.
Goldsworthy shared what she likes most about playing for the Saints, “I like when we do tennis bonding because we are such a close team that it’s really fun. We go to the movies, get boba together, we always have such a good time.”
Just like every game, the girls start with the well-known Saints Cheer, “SAN DIMAS!…” They begin their first matches against the Raiders.
“I’ve been playing tennis since I was a freshman. My friends were trying out, so I decided to also try out for the team. It was very fun and I ended up making it. The rest is pretty much history,” said Goldsworthy.
At the end of the first match, the Saints fall short of the advance to the Raiders and continue on the second match.
Goldsworthy explains that this upcoming season would be a little different from her past three, “Last year we had about eight seniors leaving, so I was kind of nervous to see who would stay for the next season,” she continues to say, “ it was really nice to see all the girls who tried out this year and all the hard work they put into the game.”
The Saints fought hard and played a good game, but in the end, couldn’t beat the Raiders 5-13. Nicole ends by saying, “My time with the girls was fun and I’m excited to see how they progress next year!”
