The Saints defeat Sierra Vista High school 3-0 on Senior Night.
May 1, 2023
The San Dimas High School Boy’s Volleyball team had their senior night on April 18, 2023. The Saints won 3 sets to 0 against Sierra Vista High School. With another win added to their league season, their record increases to 6-3. After this only being the team’s second season, they have shown lots of improvement.
This was a special night for the seniors so they wanted to have the best game possible while having fun at the same time. They have put in a lot of hard work and as their season is near its end, they are making every game count. The senior Saints were excited to enjoy their night and go in for the win. “I was excited about this game but I was also kind of nervous, but I tried not to let it affect my game,” senior Cade Tsonas said.
The Saints started off their game strong with a win for the first set with a score of 25-18. The plays and mindset they had during the game were what helped them be successful. They also won their next two sets with the second set score being 25-15 and the third set score being 25-20. With each win added to the Saint’s record, they gain more confidence in themselves and their abilities, but that doesn’t mean the work stops.
As they continue to the rest of their season, they constantly improve from where they were last year and at the beginning of this season. They have come very far for it only being their second season and they are proud of the progress they have made. “The Team grew a lot from last year, we have really built up our chemistry with each other and improved our individual skills,” said Tsonas.
It has been shown that the SDHS Boy’s Volleyball team is determined to prove to themselves and their school that they are a great team that is ready to make them proud and make their program strong. They hope to grow their team and get better each year as it is a learning experience for them during the first few seasons of their program. The Saints seem to have a good idea of how to be successful in the sport even though it’s only their second season.
The work isn’t over yet but the Saints are ready to finish the season strong and make it the best they can. Congratulations to the seniors and good luck to them and the team as the season ends.
