Homecoming Court Reveal, and an Inside scoop from our King and Queen

The San Dimas homecoming theme this year was after the movie “Tangled”. From purple and gold all around the school to lanterns hanging in enchanted forests, the movie was brought to life on our campus.

Homecoming week consisted of dress-up days, the Homecoming rally where our king was revealed, followed by the queen’s reveal at the football game, the school parade, and finally the Homecoming dance. However, with all the chaos, it is safe to say that our attention was brought to the reveal of our Homecoming Court’s Queen and King.

Our ASB put together two amazing reveals for our royal Queen and King. Senior William Salgado gave us an insight on the experience and shared “the overall experience made me feel loved and welcomed by all of my fellow classmates and friends at school, and being on homecoming court made me extremely happy and made me grateful for all my friends and the support.”

Some students at our school dreamt of being on homecoming court because of the throng, the thrill, and the excitement, but Salgado says the best part wasn’t only the support and the victory. Salgado adds, “the best part was walking down the quad with my mom as she is very special to me and this was a fun and happy experience for the both of us.”

At the football game, the reveal for our Queen took place together with the unveiling of colored balloons, just like the reveal for our King at the rally. Under the stadium lights, our Princesses looked lovely in their dresses, and their escort was right there at their side. One box had the color of purple, indicating the winner to the crowd, and the escort was to punch through it to let balloons rise. After the coronation our Queen was crowned. Hays said, “The overall experience made me grateful that I was lucky to be one of the five people nominated to be apart of the court especially when there are so many amazing people at school.”

Hays claims that “the best part about being on court was the new memories and friends I made through court and being able to participate in both the football game and the parade especially when younger girls ask for pictures because they really do believe the crown is real”.

It is easy to say that Homecoming was the perfect way for our community to start the school year, and to establish high standards for the rest of our time at San Dimas together. That’s all we have for this publish Saints, thank you for reading in. Until next time, Holly Martinez, signing off.
