Silas Ackermann, a Junior at San Dimas High School, like many young people their age, draws inspiration for their future from a variety of places. This affords them the flexibility to explore countless opportunities for their career path. From a lawyer, to a judge, or potentially a professor of psychology, Ackermann is sure they would like to spend their life making a difference. Ambition is a driving force, and their desire to, “do something worthwhile,” (Ackermann, 11). Ackermann has always wanted to do something involving law because not very many members of their family have academically driven careers, and Ackermann feels compelled to make them proud, and change the trajectory of their family tree.
Ackermann has been dedicated to the pursuit of psychology since they first became familiar with it at the age of 10. At the age of 13, they met with the therapist of their friend Jenna which also aided in fueling their passion. Around that same time was when they started to become more serious about pursuing law as a long term career.
With aspirations to attend Cornell, one of the most respected universities in the country, and knowing that law is a highly competitive field to work in, Ackermann makes it a point to apply their ambitions to their everyday life as much as possible. In their free time, Ackermann can be found reading books about law or scouring for more information about how to make these dreams a reality. Ackermann’s current read is “The Law Book: Big Ideas Simply Explained,” and they stated that, “it’s really helpful when it comes to learning the different types of laws and when they were implemented,” (Ackermann, 11). It is evident that creating a pristine future is a priority for this dedicated student.
It’s uncommon to see teenagers so compelled to do something of such great importance. Ackermann’s dedication to their future is admirable and inspiring to those who may be unsure of how to make their goals attainable. With the dedication that Ackermann has demonstrated, it is evident that they will continue to pursue and achieve these goals.
