Going to a concert is like entering a world of excitement and energy you can’t get from listening to music on your phone or computer. The electrifying feeling of being there, with the loud, echoing music, the crowds of people, and the bright glow of lights is something you can’t replace. It’s a powerful reminder that music is more than just a sound – it’s a thrilling experience that connects us to others in a way that online music can’t. At San Dimas, many students are thrilled by the electrifying concert experience, splurging on concerts such as The Arctic Monkeys, Trippie Redd, and Coldplay.

Concerts provide fans with a live, exhilarating experience of their favorite music artists. The Arctic Monkeys, a British rock band, were in Los Angeles from September 29 to October 1 performing in the Kia Forum. “It’s just such an indescribable feeling,” Senior Natalia Lopez said. Lopez feels passionately about Arctic Monkeys, describing the band as one of her favorites of all time. “This was the best moment of my life. The energy, the scene, it was all amazing,” Lopez said. The atmosphere was one to remember for Lopez, and she recalls it as a moment she truly will never forget.

Although concerts are a form of excitement for most listeners, some San Dimas students were left with disappointment from their recent concert experiences.

For instance, senior Sadie Baca recounts her experience with going to a Trippie Redd concert on October 4th at the Kia Forum. “It was the worst concert ever,” Baca said. Baca had seen Coldplay a few weeks before seeing Trippie Redd, and as an avid music fan and self-taught drummer, she is highly passionate about music and held high expectations afterward. She described the concert as an emotional, yet fulfilling experience. “It was the best concert experience I’ve had,” senior Sadie Baca said. “They promoted not being on your phone and just enjoying the moment.”

The concert experience gave many San Dimas students moments of exhilaration, excitement, and sometimes, disappointment. It’s an experience that not everyone would enjoy, but to those who are avid fans, is an experience that they should look out for. Listeners are granted a connection with the music that you couldn’t be given through the sound of our phone, instead the boost of an amphitheater. To avid music fans, experiencing a live concert may be something to look out for.
