On Wednesday, November 8th San Dimas High school celebrated students that are committed to colleges as students and staff watched them sign their National Letter of Intent. Signing day was rescheduled due to a plumbing incident that occurred on campus the week before. For these students, “Signing Day”, is a day that is worked towards their whole high school career.
Landon White (Arizona State University), Ryan Castro (University of California, Irvine), Kasen Khansarinia (University of California, Los Angeles), and Jude Favela (University of Southern California), have all officially committed to mentioned colleges for baseball. Kyla Schuster was also celebrated as she signed to Seattle University to continue her soccer career.
These student athletes were all very excited to finally celebrate their hard work and dedication to their sport. When asked what their favorite part of singing day was they all were excited to be with their friends and family celebrating their big day.
When Senior Kyla Schuster was asked how she felt about the big day, she said “I was most looking forward to being able to sign in front of everyone and feel the support”.
Senior Kasen Khansarinia chose UCLA because he wanted to stay closer to loved ones. Khansarinia stated, “I chose UCLA because it’s closer to home so family and friends can come watch. It’s a phenomenal campus and getting an education from there sets me up for success in the future.”
ASU commit Landon White mentions that he chose ASU because he fell in love with the area and the state itself.
These athletes have shown they are able to balance school while also being very advanced at their sport. They all have worked hard to become a successful student athlete and their signing day is one day to remember because their hard work is starting to pay off
