Boys Basketball Seniors Are Honored At Their Game Against Northview
Boys+Basketball+Senior+Night

On January 29th, 2023 San Dimas High School Basketball hosted their senior night against Northview for their last home game of their league season. The final score of the game was 54-37, making San Dimas Boys Basketball 8-1 overall in league. Before the game started seniors Levi Sinclair, Logan Hudson, Brian Gonzales, Ryan Quach, Benjamin Combrera, and Joseph Elyas were all accompanied by their parents and honorably mentioned for their perseverance during previous seasons.

This year San Dimas High School Basketball team graduates six seniors from their team, which is three of their starting players. Junior Ethan Zemetra says that, “The seniors taught me to always take basketball seriously, but to have fun with it as well”. As the seniors leave, many of the juniors and sophomores on the team reflect on the past seasons they had with them.

Next season the returners will be put into a different league and Zemetra says, “I think that next year is going to be pretty good, it may be a little bit challenging because we are going into a new and more challenging league”. Even though next year’s season is meant to be tasking, Senior Brian Gonzales mentions that next year’s team will be prepared because they “have more skill and are efficient on the court”.

Senior Levi Sinclair has been on the team for his past two years of high school. He mentions teammates that he will miss and compares this season to last by saying that “this year’s team chemistry is more stable than last years, that’s what makes it different”. Gonzales contributes to the idea of the team’s chemistry by saying that his teammates top qualities are “beast, beaster, and beastest”. One of Sinclair, Gonzales, Zemetra and other team members favorite memories of the team is when they were on a trip to Point Loma for a basketball tournament, they went to the beach in the middle of the night and had a night of team bonding before their next day of games.

Reflecting back on previous years, Gonzales says that San Dimas Basketball has taught him to “always keep going, no matter how hard or difficult the situation gets”. As the season goes on, the seniors are almost done with their high school career and taking their time to prepare for their next step in life.
