Signing Day

Student-athletes sign on February 16th for National Signing Day
Signing+Day

On February 16th, 2024, Saints Maddie Coss, Reagan Parkhill, and Riley Martin celebrated as they signed and committed to the next four years of their college sport. Fellow Saints, families, and friends watched and cheered them on as they signed their letter of intent, celebrating their next step into their future. Though signing day was rescheduled due to heavy rain, these Saints were happy they finally got the day they had been working hard for.

Maddie Coss signed with the University of La Verne for water polo. Coss has been playing since her sophomore year and has loved it ever since. She chose to go to ULV because “a lot of my family members went there, and I love the campus, plus I have a lot of friends that go there, and I love that it is a small school”. Though a little nervous about playing at the next level, she is excited to go to ULV. Coss’s committing process was straightforward since her boss is the coach at ULV, and her coach also coaches there. She knew she wanted to play at ULV and only wanted to play there. Coss was looking forward to her signing day and was ecstatic to sign. On signing day, Coss was “happy to sign next to my best friend Reagan and be surrounded by my family and friends,” she explains.

Regan Parkhill signed with Cal State San Bernardino for soccer. She has been playing soccer for thirteen years and has loved every second of playing, and she is excited to play for college. Parkhill decided to commit to San Bernardino because of “the atmosphere and the community within the school, as well as the soccer team treating me like I was already a part of the team.” She has been looking forward to this day since she was a little girl and has always known she wanted to play soccer in college. Parkhill is ecstatic that her hard work has paid off, as she is playing for a high-level division and school. “My favorite part about signing day was when I got to sign the actual papers to make it official while having my family, friends, teammates, and coaches all right there to support me,” Parkhill explains. It was a great day overall after a long committing process. Once she visited the school, she knew it was the right one for her. Parkhill is a little nervous to be away from home, but she is excited to start there and knows she will have a great college experience.

Lastly, Riley Martin signed to the University of Minnesota Crookston. She wanted to commit here because “it is a division two school, so I’ll get good playing time. They had my major, and everyone there was just super nice”, she explains. She is also super excited to go but is nervous about the cold weather change, coming from sunny California. The committing process was complicated because she was nervous about choosing the right colleges. Though she had four other offers, Martin knew that Minnesota was the right college for her once she had visited. Martin has played soccer since she was five years old and has always loved playing. She is dedicated and passionate about soccer and is excited to continue into college. On signing day, she loved being around her family as she made it official to play for the University of Minnesota Crookston.

These Saints have worked extremely hard to become successful student-athletes, and it all paid off. Signing day is one to remember for these athletes. Congratulations to these hardworking Saints!
