On March 15 2024 San Dimas High School and Lone Hill Middle School choir departments held their spring choir festival In the High School BCA. This concert was a big opportunity for both schools to show off their passion and talent. The BCA was filled with beautiful songs that were picked based on the element of fire. The songs that were sung consisted of, Fire by Katrina Gimon, and Caritas Abundant by John Michael Ttortta.
The spring festival is an annual performance put on by the choir department and directed by Mr Pugh. Every year is a wonderful show put together by so much talent. Sophomore Zoe Carlton states, “ The spring festival was very fun to be a part of and a very fun experience which I enjoyed”.
For seniors, this was their last spring concert of high school ever. For many, this was a safe and welcoming space throughout high school and most of all a place that felt like home. Sophomore Zoe Carlton also states, “Bel Canto is a very welcoming and safe environment where I was able to make new friends ‘.
The choir’s performance was outstanding with everybody’s melody coming together to make a perfect overall performance. The choir’s performance really did a good job of giving off the fire element theme.
The choir demonstrated a flawless vocal range flowing through each note smoothly with different ranges of vocal styles keeping the audience invested throughout the entire show. There was not a single moment where anybody in the audience looked confused or unaware of what was going on.
This concert couldn’t have happened without the amazing choir department director, Mr Pugh. This night could not have happened without the flawless orchestrating of the choir through each performance.
Overall this concert put on by our school and our middle school was a success and showcases everyone’s individual talent and their dedication to these concerts. The audience left feeling uplifted and satisfied after watching the powerful uplifting performance. This was truly a night to remember filled with music that touched the hearts of anyone that could have been fortunate to be in the audience.
