Friendsgiving is all about enjoying the company of friends who feel like family. “Yeah, I’m gonna do something with friends for Thanksgiving!” Junior Jamie Loeza enthusiastically shares.
As much as regular Thanksgiving meals with intermediate family and family friends are filled with such an autumn feeling of warmth and love, at this age many adolescents have grown to create familial bonds with those who are not related by blood. Because of these strong friendship bonds people have started celebrating this day of thanks with those they are most grateful for, their friends.
Platonic relationships have been healing people’s souls and minds, so much so that our community has collectively started celebrating traditionally kindred-like holidays with those who are not relatives.
Something fun to include with friends for Thanksgiving is little gift baskets. Inside the gift baskets, you can put your friend’s favorites, candies, snacks, a note, candles, comfy socks, and more typical basket fillers if necessary or desired.
Senior Christina Macomber and her friends are celebrating by bringing food and going to a friend’s house, “We just bring food and have dinner like you would with family, but instead it’s with friends, you know?” She is planning on bringing some sort of dessert, possibly a pie.

Multiple pumpkin patches near San Dimas can be visited with friends or family during the in-season, it is a fun family-friendly activity that can bring people closer together, make them experience moments of joy, and create happy autumn memories. Christina recently went to a pumpkin patch in Rancho, “it was really pretty to take pictures, not too expensive, I liked it”

Thanksgiving is a holiday full of gratefulness that can be celebrated with friends! Hopefully, more Saints celebrate with their chosen family.
