The San Dimas Saints Baseball team is looking forward to the 2025 season as they are preparing by playing games in November and December to get ready for it. The team has high expectations this year, as last year’s squad ended their season with a 25-5 record with the team consisting of 13 seniors. With the new league changes to high school, San Dimas is looking to become league champs again and win CIF for the first time since 2009. With a new team compared to last year, San Dimas is trying to show everyone they can still be successful even with some of last year’s star players leaving.
San Dimas has a tough fall schedule, consisting of mostly D1 high school baseball teams loaded with many skilled players. With the season coming up they are looking to get in as much practice and reps as possible so they are ready for the 2025 baseball season. So far the Saints have played 4 games and have a record of 1-3 against Summit, Orange Lutheran, Chino Hills, and Servite High School. Their game against Summit was not the ideal start to their fall schedule with them losing 5-0, preparing them to see how their future team would be. Their game against Orange Lutheran improved their last, however, the young group did not out-score the stacked OLu, but they did some good things on the field that caught people’s attention. Their battle against Chino Hills was overall more sound with the Saints finally winning 2-1 even with the team’s bats not as hot as they usually are. Servite was a tough game with the Saints losing 4-3, giving them the momentum they need to eventually play next week and then challenge some of Las Vegas’s best teams the weekend after.
After the games, players have different opinions on how the team is gonna look for the season. Some have highs and some have lows. Varsity player Eleazar Santillan stated, “I feel good about this season and can’t wait to play varsity for the first time in my high school career”. With the toughest season, San Dimas is gonna have in a while, they look to shock everyone and show people how good they really can be even with many players leaving. All the practice and games they are playing during the fall seem to be working for the Saints as they get in as much work as possible and look to have a deep run in the postseason and become League champs with the new league changes.
