The San Dimas Softball program has hired a new head coach for the 2024-2025 softball season, as the old coaching staff was let go. This is Coach Armondo’s first time in charge of the softball program. Coach Armondo seems to be pretty competitive, as he will be posting the 2024-2025 Varsity and Junior Varsity rosters very soon.
Coach Armondo has been teaching in the Special Education department for 4 years here at San Dimas High School. Taking on the softball program he knew it was going to be difficult, but he was up for the challenge. As he coaches, he wants to encourage these young athletes to play their best at all times no matter the cost.
Being the head coach means so much to him as he wants to “take on the rich tradition of being a part of an outstanding program with many excellent players.” Coach Armondo has set a lot of goals to achieve this upcoming season. He wants to walk away with something big and change the program for good. He believes that these young athletes deserve 100% from him as they give their 100% to him. Softball is a mental game and it takes a lot of work from not only the players but from the coaches as well.
Armando wants to keep the traditions going as the San Dimas program has won many league titles under the old softball Coach, Don. Last year the softball team made it to 1st round CIF as they didn’t get the outcome they wanted. Coach Bill was the head coach at the time and did everything for his athletes. The program hadn’t been to CIF in a long time and coach Armondo wants to continue the tradition and make it even farther in CIF this year. He is very excited to be the new head coach as he wants to lead his athletes to victory. The softball season starts in January so make sure you go check out the new coach and support our young athletes as they compete for a league and CIF title.
