On Friday, December 8th, from 3pm to 9pm, was the annual Holiday Extravaganza here in Downtown San Dimas, where it transforms the city into a Christmas winter wonderland! Visitors can enjoy Christmas and snow decor, live music, a “Let It Snow” parade, tree-lighting, community performances, food vendors, and plenty of family-friendly activities! Not only does this bring the community together for the holidays, but it was also the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season!
The streets were decorated with gorgeous Christmas lights, and snow decor, making it an unforgettable evening. One of the many highlights of the event was the “Let It Snow” parade, which featured festive city floats, marching bands, and, of course, Santa Claus himself. Crowds lined the sidewalks, cheering and waving as the parade made its way through the heart of downtown. Throughout the day, people were treated to fun performances by teams/clubs found around the community, which really added excitement to the celebration.
The tree-lighting ceremony was another crowd favorite, as the city’s towering Christmas tree lit up with thousands of sparkling lights, along with many presents and decor below. This moment marked the official start of the holiday season and brought a sense of unity and joy to the community. The event also featured live music and a stunning array of light decor along the sidewalks really transformed the downtown area into a festive wonderland.
Throughout the evening, live music and community performances provided entertainment for all ages. Kids were having fun on the snow slides, jumpers, and at different game booths along the sidewalks while talented local musicians and dancers took to the stage, showcasing the incredible talent within San Dimas. Food vendors lined the streets, offering a variety of delicious foods and drinks including free hot coco! Families enjoyed an array of activities, including arts and crafts stations, cute photo pic areas, and even a snow play area for the kids. The street was filled with laughter and joy, as people of all ages came together as a community to celebrate the season!
It was a night of fun, festivity, and togetherness that highlighted the spirit our city holds. As the evening came to a close, people left with smiles on their faces and hearts full of holiday cheer. The annual Holiday Extravaganza proved once again why it’s a cherished tradition in our city, leaving everyone eagerly excited for the same time next year!
