San Dimas girls softball took on the Bonita Bearcats on February 27th at 4:00pm at San Dimas High School as they fight for the golden glove. The score resulted in a rough game as the bearcats walked away with the win 17-0.
There was high competition between both teams. All of the girls played a huge part in the game as they showed dedication and heart on the field. In the first inning no one scored. The thought of a very tuff game came to everyone’s mind.
While talking with senior catcher Emerald Watson for the saints, she expresses ““Reflecting on this experience there is truly no other team I would have preferred to share it with. Although it was a huge challenge throughout the game, I still enjoyed it and that’s what matters most. I will miss waterpolo always but i’m grateful to be back on the field where my heart belongs”

Sophomore and captain Tiffany Villegas kept her confidence up the whole game and made some great plays on the felid. She have a great game defensibly and offensively had an okay game. She went 1 for 3 hitting but her driving plays in the infield at shortstop made up for it. Tiffany says “I felt pretty confident on the felid after I made some great plays defensively.”
The stands were packed with people from both sides of the towns. This game is a tradition and people come out to see who can take home the golden glove. This was the first ever rival game with softball’s Head Coach Armando for the Saints. While talking with him he states, “ Once in awhile we need to get our butts kicked and tonight we did. It’s okay that we lost we just have a few things to clean up.”
Both teams also had some great powerful hitters that made the game interesting to watch. From the Saints junior Jaidyn B had a great double to start the game off. From the Bearcats senior Camryn V had a great hard line drive to 1st base as it was caught by junior Savannah C.
Although the game didn’t end it the Saints favor, it was still a great day to play softball. Softball always will have a loser and a winner and this time the bearcats took home the win. San Dimas Saints will now face two different teams on Saturday, March 1st at home at 8:30am and 11:30am.
