On March 14th, San Dimas High School hosted its highly anticipated annual Spring Fling dance. This year’s theme, “Party at SD,” was a fun nod to the popular song “Party Rockers,” setting the stage for a night filled with high-energy music, dancing, and unforgettable memories. The Associated Student Body (ASB) put together an exciting event featuring complimentary Joe’s Italian Ice, a self-operated photo booth, and a cutting-edge 360-degree spinning camera, giving students plenty of ways to capture the night. Attendees embraced the theme by dressing in “trashy early 2000s attire,” drawing inspiration from influencer Tara Yummy and pop icon Ke$ha, adding a playful and nostalgic touch to the evening.
The gym was transformed into a bright dance floor, complete with bright, colorful lights and booming music that kept the energy high. The DJ curated an electrifying playlist, featuring early 2000s classics like “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC and “Toxic” by Britney Spears, which had the crowd singing along. In addition to these iconic hits, he played popular group dance songs like “Cupid Shuffle” by Cupid, bringing everyone together in synchronized moves. Whether students were showing off their best dance moves, laughing with friends, or simply enjoying the electric energy in the room, the music created an unforgettable and fun experience.
Junior Tess Mcdonald said “I think my favorite part of the dance was the Joes Italian Ice
it was super yummy, I got the cherry flavor,”.
Although the Spring Fling had a smaller turnout than expected, it still proved to be a fun and exciting way to spend a Friday night. From the energetic music to the themed outfits and interactive activities, the night was filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories shared among friends.
Senior Jordan Garcia shared his thoughts on the event, saying, “The low turn out made it a little awkward, but I was with my friend group, so I still had fun because that’s who I was going to hang out with anyway.” Despite the smaller crowd, many students like Jordan still found ways to enjoy the night by focusing on the people they were with rather than the number of attendees. The intimate setting allowed for close-knit friend groups to bond, dance freely without feeling overcrowded, and make lasting memories together. While a larger turnout might have added more energy to the atmosphere, those who attended made the most of the experience, proving that a good time is ultimately about the company you keep.
Overall, the Spring Fling dance was an unforgettable night filled with music, fun, and great memories. whether the students came with a date or a group of friends, everyone left with a story to tell. As the night wrapped up and the last song played, students walked away with a fun experience.
