There are hundreds of shops and restaurants in San Dimas, and one in particular is especially unique to San Dimas. The Enchanted Rose Tea House, in the heart of San Dimas, was established in 2001 and has been a beautiful place of celebration since. Located in downtown San Dimas, owner, Jean Odom has taken pride in providing a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere for her patrons and friends to enjoy their tea time. Because of that, the tea house has become a popular staple in the San Gabriel Valley, being booked over six weeks in advance! The menu at the tea house consists of over tea 30 flavors ranging from “Good Hope Vanilla” to “Passion Fruit Papaya.” And the eats at the house consists of many varieties of sandwiches, salads, and soups!
Jean Odom, the owner prepares her food with love and takes particular pleasure in making her fresh scones, Devonshire cream, and lemon curd. The Enchanted Rose Tea Parlour also consists of a unique Gift Boutique which offers specialty teas that can be bought. That means quality tea for every and any occasion! On top of that, an array of tea-related merchandise such as tea sets and decorations can be bought. When walking into the tea parlour, the impressive collection of antiques and trinkets certainly catches everyone’s eye.

When seated, an array of delicacies is given as well as a perfectly warmed pot of tea. The almond macaroon tea was perfectly blended and had just the right amount of almond taste. The tea was paired with a white chocolate raspberry British scone and three different house-made spreads. Strawberry spread, Devonshire cream, and lemon curd all paired amazingly with the warm scones and tea. After the scones and tea, the table was given a bowl of corn chowder soup and an amazing salad topped with pomegranate vinaigrette.

Later on in the tasting experience, a beautiful platter of sandwiches was brought to the table. There were four different types of sandwiches: a croissant with chicken salad, a cucumber cream cheese on white bread, spinach artichoke spread on wheat bread, and a classic ham and cheese sandwich. The platter was topped with two chocolate-covered strawberries garnished with fresh cream. Finishing the meal off with the house-made chocolate-covered strawberries was an amazing finish to the evening!
The owner, Jean Odom, when asked what she hopes her shop is remembered generations from now, replied, “A special retreat; a quiet time; a place to be refreshed!” The tea house was an amazing experience that would be an amazing spot for many events, as they have even hosted birthdays and baby showers.
