The San Dimas Colorguard team is competing throughout March, demonstrating their skills in synchronized movement and equipment work. On March 1st, the team earned a 3rd place finish at their latest competition, marking a strong start to the month. With more competitions ahead, on the 15th, 22nd, and 29th, they continue refining their routine in pursuit of higher rankings.
The Winterguard show’s theme is “Disorder”, with edgy costumes and makeup, striking visuals, and a unique routine. Their music features multiple songs from System of a Down, already proving its distinctiveness from many other shows.

The team has been training rigorously, dedicating hours to perfecting their choreography, flag work, and formations. Practices include full-run performances, technique drills, and endurance training to ensure precision and consistency. Coaches and team members analyze past performances to make necessary adjustments and improve execution.
The March 1st competition featured several high-ranking teams, making the 3rd place finish a significant achievement. Judges evaluated performances based on synchronization, difficulty, and artistic expression. Despite the strong competition, the San Dimas High School Winterguard team’s disciplined preparation and teamwork secured them a podium placement, scoring 56.76 as their total points for the Downey competition.
They also placed a spot on the podium in their most recent competition, an amazing accomplishment achieved by the hardworking guard. The WGASC competition, located at Ayala High School, resulted in an outstanding 2nd place, with the team and their captains proud of scoring 64 points. San Dimas’s Colorguard has made a noticeable improvement from last year’s winter season, an improvement that deserves recognition for their efforts.
One of the team captains Zoe Carlton expressed pride in their performance and excitement for the competitions, and exclaimed that “being able to watch other schools compete in the same activity as you, and being able to cheer each other on will forever be my favorite part.”
Captain Sydney Martinez also exhibited her enthusiasm and confidence in the team’s hard work. “We’re a lot stronger this year than we have been in previous years,” she affirmed.
As the Winterguard season progresses, the team intends to remain focused on improving their scores and achieving even greater success in the competitions ahead.
