During the 2025 spring rally, ASB revealed the theme for CLASH. CLASH is a significant competition among the different grades to determine which class is the “best.” Points can be earned through various games and activities. This year’s CLASH theme is inspired by “Five Nights at Freddy’s,” also known as FNAF. Each grade has a selected character: Freshmen will represent “Montgomery Gator,” a green alligator that symbolizes the color associated with their class. Sophomores will portray “Foxy,” a red animatronic fox. Juniors will take on the role of “Chica,” a yellow animatronic chicken. Seniors will represent “Bonnie,” a blue animatronic bunny. Since the theme was announced, there have been various opinions among SDHS students from each grade regarding this year’s CLASH theme.

Freshman Jayden Tsung shared his thoughts about the theme for CLASH, stating, “The theme is pretty random; it’s just a random video game.” He elaborated on his perspective by saying that the chosen theme lacked a clear connection to the interests of the majority. He didn’t recognize any of the characters selected for each class, making it difficult for him and others to feel excited or engaged. Overall, he concluded that the current theme was not very good and lacked the creativity and relevance that students were hoping for.

Sophomore Camille Niren shared her thoughts on this year’s CLASH theme, saying, “I like the theme this year; it’s creative and fun.” She believes the innovative approach will make the CLASH games and dances unique experiences. Camille is excited to see how her classmates will interpret the theme through their costumes and performances, emphasizing the event’s ability to foster community spirit. Overall, she can’t wait to see what unfolds at CLASH this year.

Junior Bryce Yamate expressed mixed feelings about this year’s CLASH theme. He said, “I like the theme; I think it’s creative and fun,” showing his appreciation. However, he also pointed out, “There are options that could be better, and I think they could have chosen something else.” This indicates that while he thinks the theme is good, he believes there were potentially better alternatives to consider. His thoughts underscore the value of exploring diverse ideas in event planning.

Senior Astrid Mauricio expressed her opinions about the theme, stating, “I like the theme; I feel like I will enjoy this as my last CLASH.” She also mentioned, “I know some people don’t like the theme because they don’t understand what it is, but I find it creative.” Astrid emphasized that she loves the theme and appreciates it greatly, although she believes some people might not share her perspective.
Students are excited about CLASH and the theme. Many are eager to see which class will win and accumulate the most points.
