On April 16th San Dimas hosted the National Signing day for their students and confirmed their spot at the next level. The 6 Seniors that signed were Jordan Garcia who signed with La Verne for Football. Ethan Estephan he signed with La Verne for Water Polo. Jaelyn Ramos signed with Life Pacific University for Basketball. John Kulow-Chacon signed with Azusa Pacific for Band. Audrey Sanchez signed with Concordia University of Irvine for Track and Field, and Angelina Rios signed with Northwest Nazarene University for Soccer. These 6 seniors signed and will represent SD at the next level.
This signing day represented 6 different programs each person was with a different program. Jaelyn Ramos was a basketball star and captain here at San Dimas and had a major impact on the game pretty early on helping her team win league every year she participated. She is going to the college next door Life Pacific “I chose this college because it was close to home and I can play a lot there because I know when I come back from my injury I’m going to want to play a lot” Senior Jaelyn Ramos said about choosing her next journey. Jaelyn is excited to meet her new teammates and play basketball again. The only nerves are about finding her role on the team.
Angie Rios transferred here her Junior year and unfortunately didn’t play that season, but got to show her skills off again for her senior year helping the team beat Bonita, and become League Champions. She chose NNU to continue her career Senior Rios said about why NNU was above the rest. There are always mixed feeling when moving on Angie said she’s excited for a couple reasons “To meet new people and play at the next level.” and she is a nervous about other things “(about) being by myself in a new state it going to be kind of difficult to guide and see what im going to do on my own without my parents but to find community and to figure out the place” Angelina Rios said about departing to a new area.
Audrey Sanchez has done track for all 4 years at SD and was a captain for her senior year. She has been a main role in track as she is the top in the state for Javelin and has become a very reliable anchor for the 4×4 and is an amazing 800m runner. She chose Concordia University of Irvine to show of her skills Senior Audrey Sanchez said. She will do JavelinĀ and possibly pentathlon and the 800. Audrey is excited to meet new people and for the college life but is a little nervous about the beginning and trying to settle in.
Ethan Estephan joined Water Polo late but that did not prevent him from growing quickly and becoming an asset to his team getting a 2nd team all league nod. Due to this quick development he was a leader and helped his team advance to the 2nd round of CIF.
John Kulow Chacon was a main conductor here for San Dimas with great leadership during bands best eras of competition. He also showed off his versatility by playing the piccolo, flute and drums. The great leadership with amazing versatility shows why he had interest from the next level.
Jordan Garcia was a 2 year starter at San Dimas accumulating all league nods in both years an honorable mentions and a 1st team all league, he had a major leader role for the offensive line along with Aaron Ibarra. and He was apart of the team to jump up 2 division and make it to the 2nd round of division 6 playoffs.
Amazing accomplishments for all these seniors and they will represent San Dimas at the college level as they continue to grow their skills
