The San Dimas High School Dance Team closed out their season with an amazing performance at NRG Nationals. As their final competition of the year, the team not only brought energy and passion, but they also represented SD and showcased their school spirit on the stage

The morning of the competition arrived, and the excitement was simply unreal. The team’s call-timewas 10:30 AM at the APU West Campus. As the team arrived, they headed straight to the dressing rooms to set up and begin their routine preparations. They started with an in-depth team stretch led by Captain Farrah (11th), accompanied by Captain Tess (11th), Captain Chloe (12th), and Captain Lilly (12th). Focused and ready to take on the competition, the girls warmed up and mentally prepared their routines. Their Varsity small contemporary routine was first—and the dancers performed beautifully. Every movement was filled with emotion and grace. They truly gave it their all for the last and final time this season, setting the beginning tone for what would be an unforgettable day.
Next up was the JV Jazz routine. These girls didn’t just perform, they showed what they have been working on all season! With a mix of technique and facials, the JV team delivered what their coaches called the strongest performance of the season! It was clear these dancers grown tremendously over the season, especially as they lit up the stage with their energy and spirit. The fast pace of the competition meant there were barely any breaks between numbers; however, the constant motion kept the team energized and focused for whatever came next.
Soon after that performance was JV Pom’s routine. No only did they take the stage, showing their energy and love for dance, but they also showed how bonded they were as a team. Their coaches and Varsity teammates watched proudly from the sidelines, cheering them on. “This was the best I’ve ever seen them do it!” said Jessica Liu (11th).

Then came Varsity’s Pom—an important number, as they were competing against neighboring high schools like Glendora High School and Saint Lucy’s Priority High School. The team brought their intensity and school pride to the floor, performing with precision and character. As soon as that routine finished, it was time for another team-favorite: Varsity Jazz. This piece has always been special to the team, and it showed in every turn, transition, and facial. The girls danced with everything they had, knowing this would be their final time performing their beloved routine.
After a quick lunch and some hair and makeup touchups, it was time to get ready for the next round of routines. Up next was the team Hip-Hop, which included both Varsity and JV. Choreographed by Lauren Boyd, this routine brought out the team’s boldness and personality. Full of different formations, the dancers had an absolute blast competing it for the last time. As they finished, the crowd responded with cheers and applause.
The final routine of the day—and of the entire season—was Pirates. This national winning number had won at WCE Nationals earlier in the year and had become a reminder of everything the team had achieved. The dancers took the floor filled with a mix of excitement and emotion, knowing this would be their last time performing a routine that held so much meaning. Together they took the stage, and competed the dance for the very last time together as a team, their facials and movements fueled by memories of the season, inside jokes, wins, and the late nights spent perfecting every detail. Together they danced with unity, and left everything on that stage.

Each and every dancer poured their heart and soul into their performances, fueled by the passion that had carried them through countless practices, early mornings, and long competition days. They weren’t just dancing—they were telling a story. A story of hard work, growth, friendship, and the unbreakable bond they had built as a team. The audience watched as the team delivered routine after routine, proudly wearing their school colors and representing San Dimas with honor. Natalia Alcantar said, “This competition was the best way to end off a wonderful season!”
The San Dimas Dance Team’s performance at NRG Nationals was the perfect way to close out their season. But they had brought home more then a trophy that day. they brought back memories and a connection that would stay with them forever. As they celebrated their victory—they knew they had done something truly special. They had made their mark not just on the stage, but on each other’s hearts, leaving a legacy for years to come. Until next year, SD Dance. What a season it’s been.
