HAHAHA IT’S TIME
The start of the new season for the San Dimas Royal Corps is finally here. For the next 5 months, each individual on the field would have put countless hours into their field show ready to blow minds. These expressive musicians are ready to leave the crowd speechless with their manic and unpredictable show which represents the famous marvel villain; the Joker. The band is ready to show off their 2025-2026 field show, The Last Laugh.
The band program is improving from day to day with the guidance of Royal Corps staff. The marching band director, Daniel Aguayo, is the one with the brilliant ideas. He sits there putting his imagination onto a screen, creating the show for the world to see.
Aguayo says, “The 2025 show, The Last Laugh, has been a 10 year design process. Truth is I don’t allow my imagination to do anything as it’s always run wild since I was a youngin’. I’ve always been entertained and astonished by the performance and portrayal of The Joker, specifically done by Mark Hill. From there I trimmed away at what we could conceptually portray in a 7 and a half minute marching band show.” So fascinating to hear the start of the new beginning and the inspirations that came into his mind.
For the past two years the San Dimas Band Program has taken a leap to the top. The Royal Corps are on top of their game and have made a name for themselves. Some words from Aguayo about the Royal Corps success, “I’m definitely proud of our success but the expectation that the previous years best is not this years and we will work to surpass that.
This year we are asking more from the students as we are competing in Band of America for the first time ever. I’m definitely excited for this year’s show, but also still lookin

g at how we get to that next level”. Now the band needs to continue making everyone proud of their success and shoot for the stars. They have been doing a fantastic job these past few years, so it is time to continue that trend.
With the beauty that comes from it all, followed with the hard work and dedication, the making of the Last Laugh will only end with success. With every section, the woodwinds, brass, drum line, pit, and color guard coming together, there will be nothing but prosperity falling into the hands of these musicians. Inspiring the world with their music, everyday is an amazing day to go out and march on the San Dimas football field. A path of success is the only path that the Royal Corps will walk towards.
