On August 26th the San Dimas Girls volleyball team beat the Bonita Bearcats for the fourth consecutive year in a row. The Saint’s cruised their way to victory in three straight sets leaving the crowd in absolute awe. The Saints stayed calm and composed throughout the entirety of the game, despite the high stakes of the match.
Under the leadership of Senior captains: Jayden Hanson and Natalie Starkey the two led the team to victory both offensively and defensively.
Hanson had an outstanding night with sixteen kills, ten aces, eighteen assists and, three blocks. Starkey accumulated twenty two digs and held up the court defensively. Altogether, the team came together and played tremendously to fight for the continued ownership of “The Ace” trophy.

When being asked about what Starkey was most proud of regarding the team’s win she stated, “I am proud of our leadership on and off the court. I heard my girls cheering and supporting one another the entire time. In order to win, we knew that we had to play for each other. We are truly capable of unbelievable things when we put our faith in one another.”
She goes on to explain that every single player believed in one another, trusted each other with every ball and those small components were the difference between the Saints side of the net and Bonita’s.
Hanson explains that the team had just come off of two tough losses and to bounce back in such a high-stakes game, with the crowd packed and a trophy on the line showed just how resilient and committed the team is.

She adds, “I couldn’t have done it without them, and I’m beyond proud of how we responded as a group. This win wasn’t just about one match-it proved how strong we are when we lean on each other, and it makes me excited to see how far we can go the rest of the season.”
