On Sunday, October 26th, 2025, Vogue World: Hollywood transformed the big films backlot of Paramount Picture in Los Angeles into a cinematic runway universe, where fashion and film mixed in seven dramatic chapters. From original costumes by imaginative designers like Ruth E. Carter and Colleen Atwood to revisions by fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, the evening celebrated the deep dialogue between Hollywood’s costume heritage and high fashion’s different edge. Beyond glitz, the event raised proceeds for the Entertainment Community Fund, with a special focus on supporting costume professionals impacted by the L.A. wildfires during the beginning of 2025, underlining the show’s blend of spectacle and social impact.
Many well known models made appearances on the runway, some fan favorites including Hunter Schaffer, Sam Davis, Alex Consani, Jill Kortleve and so much more. Actresses who were spotted walking too include Julia Garner wearing a gown inspired by Sophia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, Nicole Kidman in an original Chanel piece, and Angela Bassett in a march dedicated to Marvel’s Black Panther along with many more stars sporting various Hollywood looks. But what’s a fashion show without some music? Many artists came to the runway to sing tributes dedicated to Tina Turner which was done by Doja Cat, Carole King’s I Feel The Earth Move was sung by Gracie Abrams along with her own radio hit That’s So True, and Nicole Kidman opening the show with Put The Blame On Mame from the 1946 film Gilda.
Along with well known models and actresses on the runway came some newcomers as well. Some celebrities who made their first runway appearance include Ayo Edibiri sporting a gold fringe dress from the Chanel 2026 spring collection, Dakota Johnson in a powder pink sheer Valentino gown, Maude Apatow wearing a laced nude-toned Chloe gown and a lot more.
As mentioned before, this fashion show was more of a fundraiser for the people who lost their homes in the Palisades fires this past January. Vogue World was a success, raising just over $4.5 million to be donated to either rebuilding houses or new homes in general, along with companies or stores that might have been ruined too. So while the show involved the glitz and glamour of Hollywood, it also held such an important cause to help millions. We asked students here at SDHS what they thought about the show, the cause behind it, and which looks stood out to them the most, here what they had to say. Senior Zoey Kincy mentioned how well the outfit’s were executed, saying “I think my favorite is the Dune one or the Great Gatsby. For the Dune one I really just like how it looks, it’s so cute and the gold and how it definitely looks like it belongs in Dune. And then for the Great Gatsby look, I think it’s nice how well they depicted Daisy’s look.”. In regards to the actual fundraising concept, Junior Layla Byrd was a fan of the idea, saying “One of my favorite artist was affected by the fires so I genuinely think the show was for such a good cause. Especially all the people who might have not had the financial means to rebuild so I can see this charity being like, really important.”.
Vogue World 2025 proved that fashion can be about more than just looks inspired by film, it can be for a good cause as well. By turning the spotlight towards victims of tragedies and wild fires, this event reminds everyone that fierce looks and compassion from the heart can share a space on the same runway. In a world that celebrates luxury and couture, this event shined light on humanity just as much.
