After the holidays, the new year creeps up on our shoulders, reminding us that there’s still more to come. Whether or not you thought that 2025 was crazy, 2026 is filled with fun and surprises. This raises the question: What do we think will happen?
On February 1st, 2026, the 68th annual Grammy Awards will take place. Categories like “Best New Artist” or “Album Of The Year” leave fans in anticipation as to who will win.
“For album of the year,” freshman Annabelle Kim says, “I think it’s gonna [sic] be either Sabrina Carpenter with Man’s Best Friend, or Tyler The Creator with Chromakopia.” Kim thinks this because they were both big hits last year with some of the best songs, like Manchild by Sabrina and Sticky by Tyler.
“Even though I don’t enjoy these artists,” freshman Neveah Johnson says, “I think Katseye or Addison Rae will win best new artist at the Grammys.” Johnson thinks this because these artists rose to popularity in a matter of seconds. Johnson continues, “If I had to choose between the two, I would hope Katseye wins.”
“Between Let God Sort Em Out by Clipse, Pusha T & Malice, GLORIOUS by GloRilla, God Does Like Ugly by JID, GNX by Kendrick Lamar, and CHROMAKOPIA by Tyler, The Creator,” sophomore Dean Martinez says, “I want let god sort em out to win because I feel like the writing is good, the features like Kendrick, John Legend, Tyler, etc are good, and the production from Pharrel makes the beats good and the whole album replayable.”
Last year, fashion changed as fast as the blink of an eye. From baggy jeans to modern Y2K, fashion can show how we evolved and also our personality. “I think the biggest fashion trend will be bootcut and flared jeans becoming more popular,” freshman Jayden Benavidez adds, “I think that they will be a larger trend this year because they kind of combine relaxed fit jeans and wide leg ones and make something that works for both.” Benavidez also says the 2000’s style is coming back and that leads him to think that these clothing types will become a fashion trend this year. He adds, “I think that jeans in general will be more unique with different designs and patterns.”
