The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX on February 8th, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The Seahawks secured the Lombardi through a showcase of strong defense and offensive execution, limiting the Patriots to minimal progression throughout the game. Despite the Patriots battling to the end, Seattle proved to all why they were the better team on the biggest night of the NFL Season.
Despite the Scoreboard showing signs of life, many criticized the game, calling it one of the weaker Super Bowls in recent years. Senior Nick Mangune stated, “It was a Snooze Fest, there were no offensive explosions, I expected more from the two best teams in the league” (Mangune, 12). Although it did not have a nail-biting finish or many high-explosive and exciting plays, the Seahawks displayed a great gameplan and went out to execute it.
While it may not have been dramatic and exciting, the Seahawks had control the whole game. They built their lead with multiple field goals from their veteran all-pro kicker, Jason Myers. The Hawks built a steady lead based on pure field goals, with the score being 12-0 heading into the 4th quarter.
In the first 3 quarters, the Seahawks’ star running back, Kenneth Walker III, racked up over 130 all-purpose yards, earning him the title of Super Bowl MVP. When the 4th quarter hit, the Seahawks Defense who call themselves “the Dark Side,” stepped up big.
With the New England Patriots trying to spark a comeback down 12, Seattle forced turnovers that shifted the momentum heavily. One of those came from Seahawks Safety Julian Love. With the Patriots looking to make a great comeback in the fourth, he intercepted a poorly thrown ball by New England’s bright, young quarterback, Drake Maye, ultimately sealing the game.
The Patriots truly did fight all the way to the end of the game, yet nothing seemed to be clicking. The explosive threats the Seahawks had in the air and run game kept the Patriots’ defense on their toes. Seattle just played hard, smart, progressive football to secure the victory over New England.

It was by no means the flashiest game, but we saw from Head Coach Mike McDonald and the Seattle Seahawks that sometimes the most effective gameplans dont require flashy excting plays, and it is effective to stick to the basics. This ultimately led them to become Super Bowl LX Champions in a great win.
