An overview of the Lady Saints great tennis season

San Dimas High School lady saints Tennis has worked hard to get as far as they have this season. After hours of practice and dedication every day, they have proven their worthiness, making it to the second round of CIF.  

In order to prepare for CIF, the girl’s tennis team practiced more drills and techniques, like placing the ball, cross-court forehand drills and serving and volleying cross court drills these all take a lot of practice and skill. 

Bernadine See, a Senior who has played tennis all four years at San Dimas, said that this year the team’s strong suit was their doubles teams. Going into CIF our Saints Natalie Arana, and Bernadine See had a great advantage winning league finals with a 24-3 win ratio.

Playing a competitive match against Costa Mesa High School our Saints kicked them to the curb with a winning score of 11-7.

Bernadine See and Natalie Arana contributed to this win by winning three rounds with a total score of 6-0, 6-0, 6-1. 

See stated, “the team supports each member of the team by cheering them on during each of their matches.” 

  After this match, our Saints knew they were just at the beginning of CIF. By completing their first round of CIF they then moved on to round two. Their next match was at Occidental college against Westridge high school.

Although our Saints took a loss against Westridge with a score of 6-12. Coach Al their head coach said that he was very proud that the team had made it so far and was able to make it to CIF.

“I’m honestly really proud of all the girls they worked really hard all season it’s sad to see the season has come to an end but I’m glad we made so many memories and made it this far.” -Samantha Oresman

The Lady Saints tennis team has done great they’ve accomplished so much and have improved greatly from last year.
