Ghosts of Christmas Past

Saints Christmas Flops

December 18, 2019

Christmas is one of the most important holidays where families and friends join to create new happy memories and experiences. However, these accounts of some Saints Christmases will have some thinking the complete opposite.

Have you ever received a bad gift? Well, in recounting one of his Christmases, Mr. Ng described how every Christmas has been permanently plagued with questionable gifts. “Every year my brother gives me the worst possible gift. Once he gave me a promotional monopoly set from a gas station. Another year he gave me a promotional calendar from a bank. Every gift that I’ve ever given my brother has at least been 50 dollars. One time he even regifted me something used to cut sushi.” When asked if he even made sushi, so at least the gift could make sense, Ng stated, “No, I don’t make sushi.” He continued to say that, “Every year it’s like a game of how much worse can this gift get.”

Christmas can quickly become a messy holiday, from finding pine needles everywhere from your Christmas tree to having a floor covered in Christmas wrapping paper from all of your presents. However, some messes aren’t so festive and jolly. When asked about her worst Christmas experience Junior, Audrey Caprilli said that, “My worst Christmas experience was when I was six and my cousin tried to pierce my ear. She accidentally stabbed my ear with the needle and it started bleeding everywhere.” Unfortunately for Caprilli, she had a more red Christmas than a white one that year.

When Junior Valentina Moreno was asked if she ever had a bad experience, she responded that, “Four years ago, we were all at our aunt’s house in Corona and it’s by a bunch of horse tracks. So, our uncle had a little too much fun and he thought it’d be a great idea for us all to go ride some horses. His wife ended up driving the car through a bunch of horse poop and when they finally got out the farm was covered in horse poo.”

In short, nobody can say that every Christmas had been perfect. The year has its ups and downs, and so does the holiday season. However, it’s still a time to look at the bright side of things and take a moment to enjoy quality time with loved ones. Merry Christmas, Saints and have a happy new year!
