Chamber Spreads Holiday Cheer

Chamber Singers sing at the Downtown LA tree lighting.

The San Dimas Chamber Choir was invited to sing at the Downtown Los Angeles tree lighting on December 2. This was one of the choir departments biggest opportunities since the performance would be aired on TV. Not only was this a once in a lifetime experience for the singers, it also spread the holiday cheer.

The Chamber Singers spread Christmas cheer to everyone by singing classics such as Carol of the Bells and Deck the Hall. The choir is used to performing for many people but this was the first time they have been filmed live so it was a new experience for everyone. Junior, Molly Gonzalez, shares her experience, “Honestly at first I felt sort of intimidated since we would be singing on TV for the first time and it was such a huge event, but overall it was such a huge experience for us to share together.”

Not only was it an amazing opportunity for the choir to be able to sing for this event it was also a huge opportunity to be able to sing at the Music Center since it is well known for its famous and talented guests. Gonzalez reveals her view on it all, “Being able to sing at the Music Center was such an honor since it has so much history behind it”

The San Dimas Chamber Singers all got to share a once in a lifetime experience as well as spreading holiday cheer to the people near and far. Singers got the chance to be at the famous music center that’s well known for being a place for many talented artists including the LA Opera.
