A Brief Overview Of The Music Filled Night

 The Grammy award is the most sought out award in the music and recording field. The other two major awards in the field being the American music awards and the Billboard awards, the Grammy is recognized as one the highest possible awards in its field.  Reserved for artists and performers who demonstrate great musical achievements and innovations, a Grammy is reserved for the best of the best. 

The 62nd annual award show since the creation of the achievement was established in 1959 was held January 26th to honor this year’s musicians. Here is a brief rundown of some of the winners that night.

In the pop category, Look Now by Elvis Castilo and the Imposters won best traditional pop vocal album. Lil Nass’s “Old Town Road” performed alongside Billy Ray Cirus took the Grammy for best duo/group performance. And Lizzo took home the Grammy for best solo performance with her song Truth Hurts.

The Chemical Brothers swept the electronic/dance category with their album “Got to Keep On” taking best album and the single No Geography winning best recorded dance. 

In the rock category, This Land by Gary Clark jr. took the Grammy for best overall song and performance. Tool won with their performance of their song “7emest” and Cage the Elephant won best album with their new release, Social Cues.

In the R&b category, Anderson.Paak took home the Grammy for best performance for “Come Home” and best album for his new Ventura release. Best song overall in the category went to PJ Morgan for his single “Say So”. 

For the rap category, Nipsey Hussle took home the award for best performance with his single, “Racks In The Middle”. Best song overall went to Jermaine Cole for his single “A Lot” and best overall album went to IGOR by Tyler The Creator.

Billie Eilish took home the awards for best record of the year, best album of the year, best song of the year and best new artist of the year.
