“So I was barely starting out in soccer and was in one of my first soccer games, and this was my first game where I was put as a goalie without any prior knowledge or practice in how to play that position. I was extremely nervous and wasn’t aware of what I could and couldn’t do in that position. Well, when the ball came rushing towards me I didn’t realize I could pick up the ball that far away from the post and tried kicking the ball. Instead, I missed the ball when I went to kick it as it proceeded to make a goal for the other team ever so slowly. The moment of silence as we all watched it happen was absolutely mortifying.
