Humans of SD – Nick Cunneen

“Back in 2015, I went on an expedition to Vietnam where we went to Fansipan which is a mountain in Vietnam, it is the largest mountain in Vietnam and was a very hard mountain to climb. When we arrived at Fansipan it was a very intimidating sight, we saw people coming down the mountain and not completing the climb. We started our expedition up the mountain and it was a very tough climb. About one hour into the climb my uncle Dominic fell off a rock and broke his rib and wrist he could no longer go on with his injuries and we sent him back down. After about seven and a half hours we had reached the top. There is a big triangle benchmark at the peak of the mountain which was astonishing. While up there we took a lot of pictures and had a late lunch. I would also like to do Pikes Peak and Mount Shasta in the near future which is leading up to my dream climb,  Mount Everest. In all, it was a great experience and I would 100% go again.”- Junior, Nick Cunneen
