Fish in the Bowl

September 27, 2018

The San Dimas boys varsity water polo team played our rival, Bonita in the 2018 Fishbowl. The Bearcats have had the fishbowl trophy for the last two years but this year, the Saints weren’t going down without a fight. Bonita was home and the water polo team jumped in ready to win.

The Bearcats started off strong scoring 2 goals by the end of the first quarter. The Saints and Bearcats both scored another goal, finishing the first quarter with a score of 3-1.

The second quarter started off with both teams clashing to score a goal.  The Bearcats and Saints both ended the quarter strong, with both teams earning another goal. The Bearcats ended the half on top, leading 5-3.

During the third quarter, the heat was on. Both teams were aggressively fighting to take the quarter, but the score ended up staying stagnant with neither team scoring.

Going into the fourth quarter the Saints were losing hope. Unfortunately, the Bearcats stayed on top until the end. The final score was 6-3 with the Bonita Bearcats keeping the Fishbowl yet again.

When boy’s varsity water polo coach Danny Feola was interviewed by the Saint Scroll, he was asked what he would change for next years Fishbowl, he replied with ” I would have made the players believe that it’s just another game so going into it they’re not as nervous. It seems like they played pretty timidly.”
