Fall Fun

The leaves are changing and the weather is cooling. It’s finally fall! After being in quarantine for so long, people are eager to go out with friends and family. A lot of people don´t know where the best places are to go. Well luckily, there are tons of exciting places you can go that aren’t too far away.

A really popular place you can visit is Knott’s Berry Farm where Knott’s Scary Farm is being held. There you can go through haunted houses and mazes. They also have people dressed up in creepy costumes that will jump out and scare you while you’re walking. Knotts Scary Farm isn’t recommended for children under 13 so if you have a younger sibling that you want to come with you, you can go to Knott’s Spooky Farm for ages 3-11.

 If you enjoy running, you can join the turkey trot race. Every year people run 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) to burn some extra calories before feasting at Thanksgiving dinner. Joining this race is not only fun, but it can also help people around you. All proceeds from this run go to scholarships for families.

You can also go to Underwood Farms to join the Christmas On The Farm event where there are a variety of fun activities including visiting reindeer’s, making crafts, and feeding and petting animals. There is also a Haunt O´ Ween event happening on November 1st. It is a family-friendly event with pumpkin picking and carving. There are also many games and performances happening.        

Do creepy tours pique your interest? If so, there’s an After Dark Tour, ¨Tales from the Other Side.¨ On this tour, you will be given a flashlight and you will be able to explore Hollywood Forever Cemetery, one of the most famous cemeteries in the country. It starts on September 20th and ends on November 16th.

College Student, Lexy Naranjo said ¨One of my favorite places to go to during fall is Pioneer Park to just relax and watch the leaves fall from the trees. I also like to have picnics with friends there and sometimes I stop by Starbucks first to try one of their festival drinks.¨ 

Out of all these activities, I am looking forward to going to Knotts Scary Farm the most. With Mercury coming out of retrograde I’m sure we will all be feeling more social. No matter which of these places you choose to visit, you are guaranteed to have some fun during this Autumn.
