 “I went to school in New York City and we used to meet at the candy store, we did as typical kids did, we used to talk about homework or exchange homework or whatever. We also smoked [cigarettes] at the time as a group, I never told my parents we smoked but it’s pretty obvious when you do because people can smell it. My father later found my pack of cigarettes at home in my drawer. I never realized that it was disrespectful to smoke behind his back you know?

One of the things he said to me when he handed the cigarettes over was, he asked me ‘are these yours?’, and I said ‘yes’ I mean, I was caught red-handed. Then he said one thing that always stuck with me, he said ‘if you’re going to smoke, smoke in front of me not behind my back’, and from that time on I never smoked again”. – Mr. Rocque, SDHS Substitute Teacher
