Homecoming 2021- Midnight Mardi Gras

The 2021 annual Homecoming dance

October 28, 2021

San Dimas High School hosted their yearly high school Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Hangar 21 in Fullerton, CA. The theme of this year’s dance was Midnight Mardi Gras. This was the first dance of the year since COVID, so everyone was ecstatic to be able to enjoy the first real dance in almost two years. This year’s dance had the most tickets bought in almost 10 years and also had many visitors from other schools.

Sophmore Estela Marquez said she enjoyed the extra activities the dance provided, “I enjoyed homecoming because of the games, food truck, and the photobooth. The way everything was set up and the HOCO signs were really nice.”

At Hangar 21 there was a funhouse, a food truck, a photo booth, and a Bear Ride. To comply with COVID restrictions, the seats and tables were spread apart as well as space both inside and outside to walk around and stay 6ft apart. There were fun lights and Hangar 21 was really decorated amazingly to match the theme. It was awesome to have carnival-themed food and carnival rides.

Since this is the first real formal dance of the year and it was really great that Homecoming was able to happen since a lot of things were being canceled. For most students on campus, it was the first dance they were even able to attend, which made it even more special. Everyone really enjoyed it and had a great time.
