Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc

On December 5th, 2021 the hit anime “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” will receive its second season after the huge success with its first season. During its first season, it won the Best Boy award, Best Fight Scene, and Anime of the year in the Crunchyroll Anime Awards (2020), along with its movie “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” which made over $503 million at the worldwide box office. Fans are excited to see not only the amazing animation that this anime has to offer but also the reoccurring loved characters. 

One of the things that “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is most known for is its incredible art style and animation, and how it’s able to integrate 2D animation with 3D animation all while consisting of the same art style. Sophomore, Nick George says, “The animation is gorgeous, I was basically just interested in the show in general as well as the movie but the animation surprised me, it felt like my eyes were melting because the animation style is just actually insane with the fight scenes especially how it was in the movie, with the 2D and 3D animation”. Many other fans feel the same way that Nick does, its animation exceeds expectations and even inspires young animators. 

Fans are also attracted to Demon Slayer because of its wide variety of characters with complicated backgrounds which affects their current personas, it makes people excited to see them on screen and learn more about them personally, along with seeing their well-drawn designs. Sophomore, Audrey Gomez states “I’m excited to see Muzan again because he’s a really good villain and I think his design is cool, along with Tengen Uzuis’s 3 wives(Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru) cause they’re beautiful. I wanna see Nezuko have more development and a bigger personality and see more of the hashiras”. The last time we saw most of the other characters was back in 2019, so many fans are excited to see their interactions again along with possible development and uncovering origins.

 Demon Slayer has been able to introduce a lot of people into watching anime because of its animation, characters, and many more things like its intriguing plot. With the release of the first season and the movie being a huge hit, many are excited to see what this second season will bring. Will it continue to excite and compel watchers? Only time may tell.
