“In the kitchen, I’ve always seen my Abuela and my mother cooking Argentinian food and having my stepmom who is Filipina as well as my stepdad who is Mexican; I’ve always been surrounded by different immigrant cultures and traditional cuisines which kind of sparked my love for cooking from a young age. When I was younger I just liked the idea of being able to create new and dishes foods from simple ingredients but now I view cooking as more of an artistic process since I’ve started paying more attention into how I get my ingredients whether it’s through my herb garden or getting my vegetables and fruits through farmers markets. I think it’s actually become apart of my love language because I see food as something that has the ability to unite people I love,” Junior, Monica Pastor says.
