The San Dimas Saints Varsity Baseball Team Wins The RJ legacy Games

The Saints win the RJ legacy games

February 3rd was one of the most popular baseball tournaments in the SGV happened. The teams in it are San Dimas, Charter Oak, South Hills, and Bishop Amat High School. There was a kid that played for the West Covina Dukes but unfortunately, he passed away and the top schools in the SGV wanted to keep his legacy going.

Last year unfortunately the tournament directors took San Dimas out of the tournament. But this year they brought us back. In 2022 the San Dimas Saints won the tournament and were taken out in the 2023 year. The saints took being taken out of the tournament to heart. With winning both of their games by a lot. The first game The Saints went down early to the Bishop Amat Lancers but they kept fighting because they didn’t want to go down that easy and they ended up scratching 11 runs making the final 11-6. And in the championship game against the South Hills Huskies the Saints went ahead early and didn’t look back scoring 9 runs and beating the Huskies 9-4.

The Saints really took this to heart as Senior Landon White says “It pissed me off being taken out of it and we had something to prove when we were added back into the RJ games”.

This is how all of the players on the team felt and wanted to prove something. Also Senior Rocco Regan Said “Last year, when I watched the RJ games, the atmosphere was amazing and having played travel ball there for 4 years it made me want to be back in the games.” Hearing from these players they all were upset when they found out they weren’t in the games last year so when they found out they were back in it gave them more motivation

The community really likes these games. There is always a lot of people in attendance so that’s one of the reasons the games have so much energy and everyone is giving their all to do what they can to win Another Senior Kasen Khansarinia says ”Its special because it signifies RJ whose legacy lives on through baseball because he can’t play anymore”, he also says “I look forward to all the energy and competitiveness the games bring and it also brings out the best of each player and are competitive games to get prepared for the season.
