The streets of downtown San Dimas filled with excitement on Oct 17, 2025 as San Dimas high school held its annual homecoming parade. The event is a cherished tradition since 2008 bringing together family, students and community members to celebrate the start of homecoming weekend.
Although this year’s overall homecoming was a “Night at Gatsby”, the parade itself focused on show casting the many groups that make San Dimas Community unique. The San Dimas High School band led the procession down, downtown San Dimas followed by trucks carrying student organization, sport teams and local schools.
“It’s always exciting to see how the whole city comes together for this parade,” said Senior Jacob Pardus, a member of ASB for the class of 2026. “Everyone from freshman to the seniors show up to represent what a saint really means.”
Participants include the cheer squad, dance team, drama program, Spanish honor society, and several athletic teams along with Elementary and Middle School groups throughout the Bonita Unified district. The homecoming Court, one of the parade’s most anticipated features, waved to cheering families from the back of convertibles.
Senior Maya Gutierrez, president of the Spanish Honor Society shared how much the event means to the students. “It’s one of my favorite parts of the year,” Gutierrez said.
This year’s homecoming princesses also made an appearance greeting the crowd with smiles and waves. For Faith Kearns being part of the Court made the moment even more memorable. “Riding in the parade was such a special experience” Kern said. “You really feel the excitement from the crowd and it reminded me how connected our community is.”
As the parade came to an end with their high energy performance families clapped and cheer along. The annual homecoming parade once again highlighted what makes San Dimas special, its unity, tradition and lasting school spirit.
