On Friday, January 16th, San Dimas faced Los Altos for a competitive girls’ basketball game on their home court at 5 pm. This game determined who would get 1st in the league.
The Saints jumped ball to start off the game. They received it and immediately drove to the hoop. A couple of passes, but they were not successful. Saints turned over the ball, and Los Altos got to the hoop quickly.
Number two for Los altos came up quick to score with the first layup of the game. She had fast hands and was definitely quick on her feet. She was consistently getting the ball and passing. Number two and 30 for Los altos are the best on their team.
Going into 2nd quarter Faith Kearns (12) for San Dimas fouled out with 2 shots to get them back into the game. “This gave me so much confidence that I always knew was in me but I just wasn’t sure. I was happy making those 2 points because that put us in the lead by a lot and I was able to calm down and play the game I know how to.” They were now up by 10. She makes both of them and the team complements her as they know those 2 shots were very important.

It first started off with Robean (So) as she shot a 3 pointer. The crowd was getter louder as the other side was screaming “Shooter” “Don’t let her shoot”. Nevaeh Verdines (Jr) came out on fire as she shot 5 3 pointers in a row. She was the reason san dimas gained the lead back.
Going into 3rd quarter they were down by 10 points which was very stressful. This was making Los Altos team very angry. #2 one of their best players fell on the group and smacked her hand because she was so upset. This gave san dimas more confidence that they got under that girls skin and they wanted to keep scoring.
In the 4th quarter Los Altos came back with 4:20 second left in the game. Everyone was stressing out as this game was on the line. Everyone wanted to win from both teams but San Dimas came out stronger. The score being 35-33. Nevah made an insane layup getting fouled with 1:34 seconds left in the game. The crowd got really quiet as both sides were very nervous.
With little time less in the game. San Dimas push harder than ever and scored multiple times leaving no room for Los Altos to score. The final score was 47-39. This was a very intense and stressful game.
San dimas will be facing Colony away at 5pm on January 20th. Come out and support our Saints as both teams are undefeated in league right now.
