After a full season of dedication, early mornings, and late afternoons, the girls’ wrestling program at San Dimas High School fought their hardest. It rose to the top as undefeated League Champions. Throughout the year, the team competed in each dual meet with high spirits and focus. After 5 long years, they secured the number one spot in the league standings with an undefeated season.

Throughout the season, the journey becomes increasingly meaningful to the athletes as they put in the hard work to finish where they wanted. Long before the final dual meet happened, these athletes committed themselves to a standard they fought hard to reach. All the off-season conditioning, weight management, and constant technical refinement became part of their daily lives—all for what became a historic finish for the program.
From the very first league match-up, San Dimas set the tone for the future of their season. The team wrestled with confidence and hunger. Veterans stepped into leadership roles, guiding and setting the tone for the rest. April Mendez feels, “I knew all the younger athletes would look up to me as an example for their actions, and it pushed me to work harder and be more disciplined because I wanted them to succeed as well.” The team as a whole had to step up and show the crowd what they were destined to do. With every match, their determination grew stronger, giving them the confidence to compete, and San Dimas went on to win the league, helping build a legacy that would define their season.

With the guiding hands of multiple coaches, every coach can say they were proud of the team overall. Not only did the team become league champions, but in the individual league, every lady wrestler, except one due to injury, placed and continued their journey into the 2026 CIF individuals. Words from head coach Jesse Jaime, “I am extremely proud of this team. This was the most we have ever qualified for CIF. It shows the dedication, understanding, and eagerness in making this year memorable.” As a head coach, building a strong team requires great effort and dedication, and these athletes demonstrated how effective coaching can help shape dedicated, successful wrestlers.
The San Dimas Lady Saint wrestlers reflect not only their results on the scoreboard but also their growth throughout the year. As they look ahead, the foundation and standards are set for the next team to follow.
