After two hard-fought games on Saturday, San Dimas took on the Bonita Bearcats at Bonita High School at 4:00 pm for their annual Golden Gloves game. San Dimas fell short by a score of 13-12 on Tuesday.
The Saints have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive loss.

Senior Audrey Schlim and Junior Tiffany Villegas did some serious damage despite the final result: Schlim hit three home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3 with a walk, while Villegas hit two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. Audrey Schlim says, “ Once I hit my first homerun, I knew it was gone. I knew I had to do something for my team because we already had two outs. I was so happy hitting it because I knew this would be a close game.” Tiffany Villegas says, “It felt really good. I loved the energy of the game, but I was a little disappointed with the results cuz i felt sad for our seniors. ” Villegas has been hot recently, having three or more hits the last four times she’s played. The team also got some help from Junior Adrianna Rosales, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs.

San Dimas Varsity Saints got on the board in the second inning after Schlim hit a solo home run to center field.
Bonita flipped the score of the game fast in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 7-1. The biggest blowout in the inning was a single by Serenity Reyes that drove in two.
San Dimas Varsity Saints scored five runs on four hits in the top of the third inning. Tiffany Villegas doubled, scoring three runs, and Schlim homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Yeats homered to center field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Bonita.
San Dimas Varsity Saints tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a home run to right field by Villegas, a solo home run to right field by Schlim, and a single by Senior Savannah Clelland.
San Dimas Varsity Saints took the lead in the top of the sixth. Villegas homered to center field, scoring two runs, to give San Dimas Varsity Saints the lead, 12-10.
Madi Arzate homered to left field, which helped Bonita tie the game at 12 in the bottom of the sixth.
Senior Brooke D’Amato pitched four and two-thirds innings in relief for San Dimas Varsity Saints. The pitcher gave up seven hits and six runs while striking out none and walking nine. Villegas stepped into the circle first for San Dimas Varsity Saints. The pitcher allowed five hits and seven runs (zero earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking three. Reyes started the game for Bonita. The pitcher gave up six hits and six runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four.
Bonita had 12 hits in the game. Arzate, Leah Reynolds, Kelil Okayama, and Adriana Mancini each collected two hits for Bonita. Yeats led Bonita with four runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-2 on the day. Bonita had patience at the plate, collecting 12 walks for the game. Kiana Crawford, Yeats, and Koa Puppe led the team with three walks.
