Continuing down the road of greatness, the San Dimas Royal Corps makes history with their first impression at the Bands of America National Competition on November 1st, 2025!  The BOA competition is a big deal in the band world.  The judges in the box are expecting extremely high standards.  The participating bands had to give it their all to advance to the finals.

 After the gloomy Halloween night, these students had to be at San Dimas High School by 5:30 am, geared up and ready to depart to Etiwanda High School to perform live.  All were tired, but that did not ruin their spirits for the outstanding performance.  When the Royal Corps arrived at Etiwanda High School, nothing but business began.  Everyone was lending a hand to unload the trailer, helped put the props together, and passed around uniforms so that the performers could get changed.  Everything was at a fast pace, and all performers had to get ready for their warm-ups.

Warm-ups were shorter than the band was used to; each group was given 45 minutes to warm up for the grand performance.  The band ran through the more critical part of the show, and, as a band tradition, Aguayo (Marching band director) gave a speech.  Aguayo spoke his words of wisdom to the band and later mentioned, “Overall, I felt it was an eye opener, the group needed to realize what their potential could be.  Though we didn’t make the finals, we did take a few captions from a finalist group we had never competed against before.  I would definitely like to go to them more in the future.”.  As more years pass, the Royal Corps will continue to show and represent San Dimas High School and how great it is.

All walking in step down the path to the field where they were about to perform the best that they could, the nerves were starting to rise up.  Leanne Flores mentions, “I was really nervous because it was so early and it was something new…So I felt I was more likely to mess up.” Tension was high at the time, but in the end, everyone did their best.  Nobody could have asked for more from the performers.

Overall, the Royal Corps’ performance was amazing, and every performer on the field put in their best they could.  They all gave everything that they had and let their hard work show through their performance.  At the end they scored with a %70.9 percent.  The San Dimas Royal Corps proves that hard work will always pay off.  With the help of the band’s parents and staff, the Royal Corps put on a great show.
