This spring 2026 season, San Dimas High School’s Colorguard will debut their now separate Winterguard Varsity and Junior Varsity teams, marking a creative shift as the new shows explore notably different themes than last year’s production. This change reflects a deliberate effort to better showcase individual strengths while allowing each team to develop its own identity and performance style.
The decision to split into two competitive teams represents a major milestone for the program, signaling both growth in membership and rising performance standards. With increased student interest, the expansion allows performers to train and compete at higher levels while still being strong and unified. It also creates more opportunities for leadership, responsibility, and personal development among members.
This growth builds directly on the momentum of last season’s success. During the 2025 winter season, San Dimas High School’s Colorguard earned first place in state championships, a defining achievement that showcased the team’s capabilities. That victory not only boosted morale, but also demonstrated the program’s readiness to take on new challenges and meet even higher expectations.
According to varsity captain Zoe Carlton, “I’m so excited for our new upcoming 2026 Winter guard show, it’s definitely much different from last year, but I think a lot of people will enjoy watching us!”
For the 2026 season, the Varsity Winterguard team will present a more technically demanding and emotional production, pushing seasoned members to refine their skills and storytelling abilities. In contrast, the Junior Varsity team will focus on building strong fundamentals, performance confidence, and ensemble unity, creating a strong foundation for future seasons.
Despite competing separately, both teams continue to rehearse within a shared culture of support and mentorship. The team’s veterans guide younger performers, ensuring that values of dedication and artistry remain consistent across the program while strengthening trust, communication, and overall team chemistry.
With two teams, distinct creative visions, and the motivation of last year’s championship victory, San Dimas High School’s Colorguard enters the spring 2026 season feeling more confident than ever, eager to grow, push themselves creatively, and connect with audiences through every performance.
