On March 9, 2026, the San Dimas High School Choirs performed a lively concert featuring a variety of repertoires with unique stories, where students showcased their vocal talent and months of preparation, drawing an enthusiastic audience of families, friends, and community members.
The concert featured multiple ensembles, each performing a selection of pieces that ranged in style, tempo, and difficulty. The program highlighted the versatility of the students and their ability to adapt to different musical genres. Each group brought its own energy to the stage, creating a dynamic and engaging experience for the audience.
Audience members filled the Bonita Center for the Arts, showing strong support for the performers. Applause followed each piece, and the atmosphere remained lively throughout the evening. Many attendees, including friends and family, expressed appreciation for the effort and improvement displayed by the students.

The choir director, Mr. Pugh, and student director, Ms. Miranda, played a key role in guiding the performance, conducting each ensemble with precision and encouraging confidence among the singers. His leadership was evident in the coordination, timing, and overall polish of the performances. Students demonstrated not only vocal skill but also stage presence, standing with confidence and performing with clear expression.
“We’ve certainly grown a tremendous amount,” junior Abigail Lawrence, the choir president, opined, “Chamber this year started this year as a ragtag-ish group. We have some people who had been in choir for years, and some people who hadn’t even considered it as an elective option until they auditioned. We had the entire spectrum when it came to music knowledge; people that didn’t appear to have ever opened a book on the subject, and some who could pass for geniuses.” She speaks on Chamber Choir’s amazing progress, “to have us all on the same level by the end of the year is such an unappreciated accomplishment. And I think the biggest proof to this is the fact that it was our choir that secured SDHS’s first Superior at the CSUF festival.”
Several standout moments throughout the night drew particularly enthusiastic reactions from the crowd. The Chamber Choir dazzled the audience using powerful harmonies, Bel Canto with a strong set about femininity, and Chorale with a beautiful story about singing itself, these highlights reflected the hard work that went into preparing for the concert.
For many students, the concert represented more than just a performance. It was an opportunity to showcase growth, build confidence, and collaborate with peers. The event also served as a reminder of the importance of arts programs in schools, providing students with a creative outlet and a sense of community.
Overall, the March 9 choir concert at San Dimas High School was a successful and memorable event. Through their performances, students demonstrated dedication, teamwork, and a strong passion for music, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.
