On May 22, 2026, San Dimas High School hosted its annual Powderpuff fundraiser at 5 PM, bringing all classes together for an evening of competition and excitement. It is one of the anticipated traditions in which girls from each grade level compete in flag football, while football players coach the teams from the sidelines. Students and families gather throughout the night to support the players and watch the interclass competition.
The event was organized as a tournament between our four grade levels to determine which class would come on time. Each team competed with energy and determination, as players gave their full effort in every game. From the beginning of the tournament, it was clear that every class wanted to win and represent their grade level.
The class of 2026 once again proved itself by remaining undefeated and winning Powderpuff for the second year in a row. After last year, the seniors entered the event with confidence and experience, which helped them secure another win in their final year at San Dimas High School. Many students were expected to perform well again because of the strong teamwork they showed throughout the games.
Senior Faith Kearns said, “Going into the games. We were all really competitive, but we also just wanted to have fun during our last Powderpuff game.”
The freshman surprised many with their strong performances and finished the tournament in second place. Sophomores just finished third, while juniors ended the night fourth. Even though not every team won, all the players showed determination throughout the competition.
Senior Stephany Segura said, “Even though everyone wanted to win, the games are still really fun to be a part of. Made the most out of our last Powderpuff game.”
Throughout the event, determined players stayed energetic about the games and continued to encourage their teammates during every match. Powderpuff continues to be an important tradition at San Dimas High School because it represents the school’s environment and creates lasting memories with classmates.
Senior Savannah Clelland said, “Winning again during our Senior year made the experience even better. We all worked hard, and it was a fun way to end the year with our.”
As in, I came to the end of the class, celebrated another powderpuff victory, and closed out their Senior year with the final win. The event once again: competition, class, and excitement among every grade level at San Dimas High School.
