On Saturday, May 16th, the most exciting event for the Juniors and Seniors took place. Prom night was filled with excitement and anticipation, and was an event that every upperclassman looked forward to all year. From looking for dresses and suits to promposals, prom season is such a fun and exciting season for all. As the saints get ready for summer, prom is a great way to have fun with friends before the upcoming year. It’s the night where these high schoolers can step out of their everyday life into a world of dancing and formal elegance. This is an amazing way for all upperclassmen to get all ready and nice, take fun pics, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
This amazing night started for some in the early early morning. Many groups of friends got together in the morning to get brunch and got ready with each other. Senior Jessica Liu states, “I love getting ready with my bestest friends, especially before prom!” Saints were found taking pictures at La Verne University to beautiful parks; hanging with friends and dates, and capturing the memorable moments before the infamous night.

The SDHS 2026 prom was hosted at the Cerritos Center Performing Arts Center, a beautiful venue full of space to dance and hangout. The beautiful lighting inside the building; mixed with a crowd favorite DJ, was a great way to start the night. The event was lined up perfectly and as usual, never failed. As Principal Mayen brought up prom court, everyone was so excited to see who would be announced for prom queen and king. Prom queen and king for Juniors were, Madison Bulick and Jacob Marshall. Jacob Marshall (11th) says, “I couldn’t believe it! Winning prom king jus made the night that much better!” Then for Senior prom queen, queen Renee Gonzales won! Getting announced under the city lights would have been the highlight of their night! Congratulations to them, they all looked sharp for the night!

For many, prom is the highlight of their high school experience. This prom was another success to add into the books!
The ASB Junior Class, specifically President Jocelyn Ruelas, Vice President Andy Nuno, Treasuer Camille Niren, and Secretary Ella Coffman put on an amazing 2026 Prom, that will forever be a unforgettable night to all. Mixed with fun games, to drinks and food offered; Saints had nothing but the best to say about this dance. This night is truly one to remember!
